It all starts with a brainwave.

Today I was thinking i spend an awful amount of money on products, Hair care products, face products, body products.....the list goes on and on. And then i thought all these products they can't be good for me. I looked at the labels and harldy any of the products contained things i know, all you can see is chemical after chemical. Our skin is our biggest organ, and when i use these products all im doing is putting them onto my skin, they then enter my blood stream. It made me think, do i want to put chemicals in my body? what will the effects on my body be in the long run?. And this is when i decided i was going to jump on the no 'poo bandwagon, and try to make my own toners, exfoliators, face masks, lip balms etc etc out of things i have sitting around home that i know are good for me none of those icky chemicals and fillers I was using on my skin.
It stated with lots of research on the no 'poo movement, I had a shower and ditched the shampoo and conditioner for the first time ever. Instead i used baking soda and malt vinegar ( I didn't have any apple cider vinegar). And my usually curly frizzy untameable hair was soft and smooth for once, although this was the first time trying this my hair feels amazeballs. But i do hear that there is usually a detox period, not looking foward to that.
I then proceeded to make my own face mask.I used Oatmeal, honey and a bit of warm water. I left it on for 15 minutes and then washed it off, my skin felt like an angels bottom (i expect that angels have soft bums, k?). I didn't like the fact i can't small bits of oatmeal in my nice shiny hair : /.
Then i made a toner using black tea, a tinnyyyy amount of tea tree oil and some water. It left my skin feeling clean and refreshed.
I am so excited to be trying this out, Follow me on my journey of being a human guinea pig. I will try new recipes and review them. So if you're sick of slathering chemicals on your face, want to try something new and eco friendly then join me :P.
